Sorry for the radio silence. Ongoing medical issues with myself, friends, and family caused me to ignore updates. However, I have still been writing using the 10 minute timer method. Because I only had so much mental and emotional energy, I backed away from the website, social media, and blogging to focus on editing and revision. And guess what? It paid off. Among other achievement, I’ve written or edited every day this year so far.
I’ve spent the past few months finalizing a clean draft of Book 1 for developmental edit. Therefore, I’m happy to say Justicar and the Cursed Abbey is chapterization and edit ready. While I tried to finish by April, so I wasn’t splitting my focus, alas, it was not to be.
During Camp NaNoWriMo, I spent as much time or more edtiting the first book as my “official” Camp NaNo project. However, I finished the current draft Tuesday of this week, May 21, 2019. I can’t thank my first reader enough for putting up with my pestering.
For CampNaNoWriMo, I began another revision on Book 2. Initially, I only tracked work done on the second book. However, as the revision and final edits to Book 1 dragged on, I tracked it too.
It’s been rough going. Comparisons of the state of the books are inevitable. So, my morale and enthusiasm for this project hasn’t ramped up yet. Major story questions and challenge remain unanswered and unsolved. Also, cast of characters, motives, clues, et cetera, remain in flux.
No significant work here. However, small bits and pieces are getting fleshed out with time. Work on the other books has, also, solidified setting aspects, character personalities, and backstories.
I’m not sure when I will start the next round of revisions on this one.
My next priority for editing and revision is the prequel novella. I also have a patreon page and a ko-fi page.
