Can I Play With Madness

The first week of NaNoWriMo went fine. I will be working on two novellas. One a prequel to the main fantasy mystery series and the second is to be determined, but it may be a story to fill in the gaps either between the first and the second book or the second and the third book. Likely it will be to fill in a gap between Books 2 and 3 because Book 1 and 2 follow fairly close on to each other in time.

There’s no progress to report on any of the three books in the main trilogy because I’ve been focusing on getting my writing squared away for NaNoWriMo. As for the urban fantasy, I am slowly hacking my way through the revision. I tackle it now mostly when I’m away from home and in the waiting room.

One of the difficulties I’m encountering with the novellas is how to make them distinct from topics I want to tackle in the other three books. Or rather aspects I have already tackled in the trilogy. However, it has had the side benefit of helping me flesh out other parts of the world as well as my main characters’ home region. I am definitely tackling a different part of the main character than I am in the other three books. So that is a definite plus.

Book 1 – Justicar Jhee and the Cursed Abbey

I don’t expect to make much book specific progress this month except adjustments for consistency.

Book 2 – Justicar Jhee and the Hole in the World

As previously mentioned, I don’t expect to do much here either.

Book 3 – “The House of Knives/Sorrow”

I still have yet to make a conceptual outline for book 3. That may be the only writing I have the bandwidth to do while also participating in NaNoWriMo.

Have a lovely day!
