A Justicar Jhee Mystery
The book titles are not set in stone for my fantasy mystery series and I’m still open to feedback on them.
More work on the cover art. Soon I hope to post the book cover mock ups for feedback. Other than that, not much to report.
No progress on this one at the moment.
1st draft of Book 3
Hit 20,000 words on the November 8th. I’m on track for a first draft between 60K-72K. In terms of story progress, this is at the start of Act 2. I’m writing the story mostly linearly, but I am working off a non-linear scene listing I generated in the outline stage. To create both, I used the process described in Take Off Your Pants! by Libbie Hawker.
This draft feels a lot cleaner than the first drafts for Book 2 & Book 3 so far. We’ll see how things go once we get further into the messy middle.
Because of the scene listing, I’m not as dependent on Write or Die to hit my daily goals. I do my fastest writing with it, but also my messiest; often littered with notes to self and bits and pieces which belong elsewhere in the story. When I get stuck or behind, though, nothing is better for helping me get out of my own way and simply write. That red flashing consequence screen cuts down on a lot of daydreaming.
I haven’t dictated much. I use it mostly for story notes and additions to my prose. There are just times when my fingers and brain refuse to work together and I can’t spell or write a coherent sentence to save my life. But I can dictate one.
Until next time, Have a lovely Day!
